It was lovely to be asked to unveil a brand-new mural at The Arty in Acklam.

The Arty is a path and strip of land running from the junction of The Prospect, Thackeray Grove and Walton Avenue up to the east of Mill Hill playing field. It had become overgrown, neglected and a target for anti-social behaviour but thanks to the Friends of The Arty (FOTA) it is now revitalised and enjoyed by people of all ages.

Local artist Kaye Elling has created a wonderful mural on a wall at The Arty depicting an interpretation of how the area may have looked in the past with its medieval fish ponds.

We shared a cuppa and chatted after the mural was unveiled. Great work by everyone involved!
