Andy McDonald, Labour MP for Middlesbrough, is looking for a Constituency Office Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to lead Andy’s constituency team: providing strategic direction, ensuring Andy’s time in the constituency is spent effectively, engaging with local stakeholders, and ensuring that constituents receive the best possible service. The Office Manager will play an important role leading a friendly, high-performing team, and work closely with Andy to maintain his strong presence in her constituency.

Responsibilities

· Proactive and reactive engagement with local stakeholders, including community groups, local media, councillors, local businesses and others.

· Management of Andy’s busy constituency diary.

· Strategically planning, executing, and following up on visits within the constituency.

· Ensuring Andy is briefed ahead of all constituency engagements.

· Line management of the constituency office team, supporting colleagues to help them to develop.

· Horizon scanning and proactive problem prevention and resolution.

· Drafting written content for publication in various forms, including social media, Andy’s website, and local media in conjunction with other key staff

· Oversight of Andy’s expenses claims, sensitively and accurately recording and making claims on his behalf.

· Responsibility for administration of security measures at Andy’s office and constituency home.

· Coordination between the constituency office and Andy’s team in Westminster, liaising on logistical arrangements, as well as ensuring Andy’s constituency priorities are reflected in his work in Parliament.

· Other duties as required.
