A convincing by election result for our newly elected Middlesbrough Councillor Janet Thompson.
Warm congratulations to Janet who worked so hard for her success and our Labour teams who supported the campaign on the doorstep.
I’m certain she will be a popular and hardworking representative for the people of Brambles Farm and Thorntree Ward following in the footsteps of our good friend Peter Purvis who sadly passed away recently.
Janet’s victory is an important milestone in the run up to May 2019 and the whole Council and Mayoral elections. Middlesbrough Labour won’t take anything for granted and we will be engaging with voters across the town with the same energy and enthusiasm in the forthcoming campaign.
In Middlesbrough we are achieving our city-scale ambitions. It is vital we re-elect a Labour Mayor and a Labour Council to carry on the legacy of the past four years to fully realise the exciting opportunities that are being created and now appearing for everyone to see in and around our city centre.
Voting Labour will ensure we keep Middlesbrough moving forward in these toughest and most uncertain of times.
