Andy McDonald MP "Putting Middlesbrough First"
Work is progressing on the former Tollesby shops parade and it was great to visit with Sheila Dean, Labour councillor for Acklam Ward to hear from site managers working there.
There have been some delays in work due to unforeseen cabling issues but the team on site are working apace and completion is expected early next year.
Site Manager Lee McGuire and Project Manager Ronald Farquharson told us they have around 20 workers on site at present with that number expected to rise to 70 as the build nears completion.
Myself and Sheila Dean have worked closely with residents to bring about a successful outcome on this site for a number of years and have held and attended many meetings both on site and in the community.
I know from talking to both Lee and Ronald on site that they are keen to hear from residents living nearby and they even have a suggestion box for people to have their say. There are plans to get pupils from Newham Bridge School to create posters that they will be able to display on the site perimeter fences.
