I recently visited Middlesbrough’s Community Grocery at St Barnabas Church which opened its door in June and I chatted to David Goodhew and the volunteers who help keep the Grocery running.
It already has around 900 members who can shop there for fresh, frozen and tinned food at a reduced cost. It is a partnership between the Church and The Message Trust and is one of 16 similar groceries in the North of England.
