This cannot continue. The Prime Minister cannot lead her own Government, never mind the country. Kwasi Kwarteng did not create that disastrous mini budget by himself. He implemented policies that Truss has been championing for months. Policies that she has continued to stand by this week.

Again, she has been forced to U turn a decision, this time on corporation tax. This is the opposite of the ‘decisive action’ she repeatedly claims to take. Her short time as Prime Minister has damaged, and continues to damage, the whole country.

It has never been clearer that we need a general election now.
