Today I joined nurses and supporters on the picket line in Middlesbrough to show my support for their call for fair pay.

There is huge support for Royal College of Nursing members. The turn-out was fantastic and no-one could doubt the public support they have.

What a response from the public! The honking of horns from passers-by was incessant along with shouts of solidarity from others walking past.

While Simon Clarke MP is criticising nurses for their lack of budgeting skills, the people of Middlesbrough were loudly and proudly showing their support and thanks to our wonderful nurses.

My complete solidarity goes to everyone on the picket line today calling for fair wages. They deserve nothing less.
