She was such a tireless disability rights campaigner, right up until her final weeks. As a solicitor conducting spinal injury work before entering Parliament, and more recently as Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Spinal Cord Injury, of which she was a stalwart member, I am very aware of what a massive figure she has been in fighting for the rights of disabled people. This includes her establishing the Spinal Injuries Association fifty years ago, which has gone on to be the leading national voice for spinal cord injured people.

I know a great many people are so extremely grateful to her for her incredible lifetime of work that has so positively impacted on thousands and thousands of people.

A truly remarkable life well lived. RIP.
